I’m not sure how the term originated for a designation of an older woman dating a younger man. In writing this short post, I realized the term isn’t all that flattering to women is it. I mean do we call a guy a cougar when he dates a woman twenty years younger? It’s a theme I deal with in my highly rated book Pleasure Me. In the book I deal with a woman who’s much older than the hero, and how she struggles to accept that it’s okay to spend the rest of her life with a man much younger than her. As I age, I’m developing this, “nope, not right” attitude when it comes to women issues. If it’s good for the goose, it’s good for the gander. I’m firmly in the camp that cougar is a term to try and shame women into acting their age. FORGET THAT! Age is relative. What do you think about older women / younger men stories? Love, hate, meh?
