What does Halloween mean at Harley Wylde’s house?
My house is the only one on my entire street with decorations for Halloween. And I started putting them out by October 1st. I add a little each week, until about five days before Halloween. By then, everything is out.
Tombstones, skeletons, pumpkins, spooky signs and more.
What I love the most about Halloween is how much fun you can have! Whether you go super scary, slightly creepy, or more toward a family-friendly humorous type of décor, it’s a blast setting up decorations in the yard.
This year I added a solar moon and some solar stakes that look like flickering torches on either side of my porch, as well as two metal cat silhouettes. I’ve already been bookmarking things online I plan to buy for next year to add to the collection.
The times I lived with my Nana and Poppop, we’d go all out for Halloween. Cobwebs in the bushes, ghosts and skeletons hanging from trees. A murderous werewolf scarecrow in the front yard. We’d even set up a fog machine and strobe lights Halloween night. My favorite Halloween my aunt had come to visit. She dressed in a head to toe costume that was a hooded black robe with no face. She sat in a chair and held the bowl of candy. Watching teenagers creep up to her and reach for the candy, only for her to jump up and scare them, was hilarious. Needless to say, we were the most popular house that year.
So Halloween has fond memories for me.
It also permits me to watch Halloween themed movies for the entire month of October without my family giving me the side-eye. I admittedly watch things like Hocus Pocus, Rose Red, The Haunting, Scream (all of them), Nightmare Before Christmas, and Halloweentown all year round. For me, every day is Halloween!
What do you do for Halloween? Do you decorate or have a family tradition?

Titan — I no longer looked at the girls frequenting the clubhouse the same way I had before. Being a dad changed my perspective, especially since I had a daughter. I still had fun, but it had lost its appeal. Then she walked in. Too young. Too innocent. Until she asked to join the webcam girls. The thought of strange men watching her made my hands clench. It was safer if only I had access to the feed, or so I told myself. Really, I’m just being a possessive bastard. Delilah will be mine, whether she realizes it or not. One kiss is all it takes for me to know she belongs to me. When she’s taken, I know I’ll do whatever it takes to get her back, and I’ll bury anyone who’s hurt her. Delilah is mine, and I will kill to protect her.

When Harley’s writing, her motto is the hotter the better — off the charts sex, commanding men, and the women who can’t deny them. If you want men who talk dirty, are sexy as hell, and take what they want, then you’ve come to the right place. She doesn’t shy away from the dangers and nastiness in the world, bringing those realities to the pages of her books, but always gives her characters a happily-ever-after and makes sure the bad guys get what they deserve.
