Passions under the North Queensland sun that will send your senses into turmoil.
“I got into some trouble back in England. My family thought it would be best if I left.”
She tried to hold back her pain. “Did you get some poor wench pregnant?”
He laughed at her blunt outburst. No sooner had it come though, she watched his humor fade away.
“I killed a man, Ella.”
“And the woman I saw you with that day?” she asked out of genuine curiosity.
He shrugged. “I honestly don’t know. She asked me to escort her over, so she could see the view as the ship set sail. That was all.”
Ella was still unconvinced.
Reaching for her, Seth laced his fingers in hers. Lifting their joined hands level with their eyes, he looked at them.
“Your hands are still so small. They could fit inside of mine.”
She narrowed her eyes. “What did you say?”
He squeezed her hand affectionately. “You always were so small. I used to think you could fit inside of me, so I could take you wherever I went.”
She couldn’t stop her eyes filling with tears. “You told me that our first time together.”
Seth nodded. “And I told you again on our last night together too.”
Ella threw herself at him, her lips hungrily taking his, forcing him to respond to her. She knew she shouldn’t be doing this. She knew what would be thought of her, still unwedded yet behaving so ardently with this man.
Still she didn’t care.
She wanted this man…and she wanted him now.
