I’m sure I’m not alone when I say that one of my favorite things about the holidays is the food. Some
foods I only make around the holidays and others I make all year round, though for some reason they
taste better at this time of year. These are my top 5 holiday foods.
Fruitcake: I absolutely love fruitcake. It can be pricey to make, but it’s worth every penny and every
Cranberry almond quinoa: This is a relatively new dish for me, but it’s one I’ve recently come to enjoy
around the holidays. I love it.
Sweet potatoes baked with brown sugar and nuts: My sister in law makes this during the holidays and it’s
Chocolate star cookies: My grandmother used to make these chocolate center melt-in-your-mouth
cookies. Though I’ve baked them and others in the family have as well, no one has been able to make
them quite as well as she did. Grandma had the magic touch for cookies.
Lasagna: This is one of my favorite meals at any time, but it’s another that I usually have only around the
holidays. I especially love it with spinach.
What are your favorite holiday foods? I’d love to hear about them.
