Hi Leah, to answer some of your questions. I love both standalone and series but i have to admit that i don’t like series that are to long like 7+ books often that means repeating if you know what i mean. But a plus for series (if it is about the same couple) is that you can get to know the characters better because there is more page time. I like both novels and novella’s. When i have the time and can relax i love to read longer books but novella’s are great to read while waiting or just before bedtime.

      Hi Angela!
It’s funny you bring up longer series. As a writer, I find I get bored with a series after a certain number of books. It becomes monotonous…to a degree. That is, of course, if there isn’t room for the series to take different twists and turns. Perhaps that’s why I love paranormal so much. The boundaries aren’t nearly as constricting 🙂

What is your favorite genre of romance?
I love all kinds. Sometimes I read a lot of contemporary than other times I like to read something different. I like to experience a lot of different authors and see what they have to offer a reader.

Do you prefer stand-alone or series?
There are certain authors that I love their series but sometimes, especially with a new author, I like to read a stand-alone. If I like the stand-alone then I’m willing to give their series a chance (if they have one).

What is your preferred length of story? Novella, short novel, or long novel?

It depends on the amount of time that I have to read. In the summer, a novella or short novel are great for vacation time. As the weather turns colder a longer novel is good.

      Hi Lynn!

I never considered how seasons affect a reader’s choice of book length, but it makes perfect sense. There’s something awesome about curling up beneath a blanket in the winter with a good book and a cup of coffee (or wine 🙂 ).

An owl shifter, that’s a new type for me.

I prefer long novel books as part of series. Paranormal romance is probably tied with romantic suspense for me.

      Hi Anne!

The owl shifter was a new one for me, too. Soaked up a bunch of information researching the great horned owl. Beautiful creatures, though. My heart is in paranormal. The possibilities are practically endless.

Do you prefer stand-alone or series? I enjoy both
What is your preferred length of story? Again depends on mood and free time to read, but I enjoy all lengths. 🙂

      Hi Colleen!

I have to agree with your answers. Pretty much sums up how I would answer my own questions 🙂
