A. Catherine Noon here, wishing you a Happy St. Patrick’s Day week! All week, I and my fellow Romance Studio authors will regale you with essays, excerpts, and all sorts of fun stuff for our week-long party. Be sure you enter the grand prize drawing as well as the drawing for prizes from participating authors. We’re glad you’re here!
In celebration of St. Patrick’s Day, I came up with some ideas for topics. No list would be complete without talking about one of my favorite authors, Kenneth C. Flint. Mr. Flint novelized myths and legends of Ireland and the Celts, bringing to life such characters as Lugh Lamhfada, the Fomor, and the Tuatha de Danaan. I adored his trilogy about Lugh Long-Arm, and then discovered a wealth of other stories spanning the length and breadth of the Emerald Isle.
If you are a fan of Irish folklore, myths, and legends, you owe it to yourself to check out Mr. Flint’s work. My favorites are Riders of the Sidhe, Champions of the Sidhe, and Master of the Sidhe, but his Amazon page lists the rest of his catalog.* It’s well worth checking out.
What about you, Dear Reader? What are your favorite novelizations of myths, legends, or folklore?
– E.E. Cummings
