Well, maybe not so much weather wise as I know much of the country has been sweltering lately and my part of southern New Mexico is no exception. The forecasters are saying a 50% chance of rain today–a weak flow of summer rain or “monsoon” moisture is coming up from the Gulf and maybe more next week. The rains are not as reliable as they used to be so lots of us have our fingers crossed. The drought has caused another very bad wildfire season this year and I’ll visit that in more detail later in some posts about a July release I have at JMS Books, Red Tails in the Sunset.
Some call summer “dog days” and I think my dogs could sympathize with that. They tend to spend the middle of the day inside where the cooler is blowing down and are glad Mom will usually do the daily walk early while it is still relatively cool. And speaking of dogs, that is another subject near and dear to me. For those of you who share my love for the canine species and maybe enjoy a spicy tale or two where cops and canines share the spotlight, I’ll also be talking about Cops and Canine Cupids, the second collection of my doggie tales which is coming from Loose Id this month!
So stay tuned and drop by via a comment or two to chat with me here and get your name in the hopper for a prize or two. I’ll try to keep them as ‘kewl’ as possible although most all of my reads are hot, hot, hot!
