Good morning and 1st Post from THE TRUTH BEHIND THE LIES Laying the Norfolk Ghost to Rest-one story from Wicked Intentions
Good morning beautiful people. I am excited for another day of posting about my paranormal short story Wicked Intentions-7 bone chilling stories based on true cases. Please comment for a chance to win a free paperback from me. Thank you and have fun.
As I drove from the Norfolk airport in my chartered car on that warm windy day in 2003, I steered toward Burnt Pine, the commercial hub of the Island. It had been two years since I stepped foot on this small, but lush islet, one-thousand miles north-east of Sydney, Australia. After being called in to investigate, American born Ruthie Geil‘s murder, I had the haunting feeling, that this case was “the case” that would make my career.
Before the horrific crime, which occurred the previous afternoon, these native lands of mine, within a tight knit community of sixteen hundred, had only known peace and security. In the blink of an eye, Ruthie’s death, put folks on pins and needles for years to come. For one reason, most felt the killer was a local. The second reason being, we are devoutly religious people, and prayed solving the case would bring justice for Ruthie, and lay the ghost of Norfolk Island to rest once and for all. The crime caused fingers to point and crushed many marriage’s and childhood friendships.
After the murder, whatever disaster hit the Island, we blamed it on the Norfolk Ghost. If crops failed and livestock died, we blamed it on the Norfolk Ghost. If the nets of fishermen were empty and children got sick, we blamed it on the Norfolk Ghost.
