Good morning everyone! Here’s another short excerpt from Stricken, this time from Chapter 8. Don’t forget I’m giving away two copies of Stricken, so comment on my posts if you want to be entered into the draw!
Without thinking, Ewan leaned forward to nuzzle his mouth against hers before he pulled back an inch to stare down at her.
Marti’s eyes closed as she rose onto her tiptoes, and her bottom lip bumped his in a silent invitation, one he couldn’t ignore.
His hand slid to the nape of her neck to angle her head as he claimed her mouth in a long and tender kiss. She instantly responded, her lips moved in time with his, her fingers curled into the front of his jacket.
The cold wind swirled around them, and the heavy scent and sounds of the sea faded into the far reaches of his mind as his entire being was focused on Marti, and the sensations of her lips and body fitting perfectly against his.
Desire swelled in low in Ewan’s gut when he felt her pulse quickening against his fingers and the familiar, soothing taste of her mouth under his enveloped his mind.
Stricken: Love deserves a second chance.
Ewan Campbell once thought he had it all – he was a rising star in the real estate field, popular with his peers, and engaged to his employer’s cousin, the shy and quiet little Marti Marlowe.
A heartbeat later, he was alone – shattered, confused and suicidal. Why had Marti walked away from him?
Years later, in another place, and a new chapter of Ewan’s life, fate brings them face to face again.
They start building a friendship, but Ewan wants more. He wants Marti as his wife, and she seems to prefer their current status as friends.
Can he convince her that taking another chance at their failed future will be the start of the best part of their lives?
