DRESSED FOR SUCCESS – NOW AVAILABLE FOR PRE-ORDER
Two wounded-in-love go-getters must decide if they’ll break their personal rule that cost them so much in the past by mixing business with pleasure.
Divorcée Bebe Boshey flees her Ojibway community for the city of Thunder Bay to begin anew, landing a great job that affords her an independent lifestyle she covets and a great condo. Best of all, her silver fox boss thinks the world of her. She can’t help her attraction to him, but office dating is a huge no-no.
Divorcé Alden Campbell is tired of spending his nights alone. And he’s also quite uncomfortable about his feelings for his ace real estate agent, Bebe. Even though they are strictly professional in their daily dealings, the sizzling chemistry ready to boil over between them is enough to shake him with fear, because he’s been there and done that.
While they’re on a business trip together, a crafty playboy pushes Alden into making a big decision that might cost him dearly—pursue Bebe and break his rule of business-only, or let Mr. Tall Dark and Handsome work his charm on the one woman Alden wants to call his own.
Gigi’s glowing face appeared on the screen. “Well, what’s up?” her big sister asked.
“It happened. It happened.” Bebe plopped on the stool at the island. “He asked me to attend the conference.”
“See. I told you so.” Gigi grinned slyly. “I knew it. I knew it. Don’t you ever underestimate yourself again. He believes in you. And so do I.”
“You think so?” It wasn’t easy being an Ojibway woman trying to build a new career in real estate.
“I know so.” Gigi winked. “By the way, has anything happened on the romantic front?”
Heat scorched Bebe’s cheeks. She made a face at the laptop screen. Why oh why had she told Big Sis about the hotness factor of her super-babe boss? “No. And nothing will happen. He’s a true professional, as am I.”
“It’s been three years…” Gigi knowingly eyed the screen.
Taking such a big risk again was out of the question. There was no chance Bebe would put her job in jeopardy for a second time. “Not going there. My days of office romances are done.”
“You can’t make all men pay for what Brad did,” Gigi fired back, but a hint of sympathy lurked in her words. “You’re single. He’s single. You said you caught him looking at you a few times. You said there’s enough sizzle to fry a pan of bacon—”
“No.” Bebe raised her hand. “Pack it away. I called to talk about the conference.”
“I think it’s time I stepped out of hibernation. There are bars there…” Bebe sipped more wine.
“Oh? Going dick hunting?” Gigi giggled.
“Don’t be crass. Let’s simply say I’m tired of my vibrator.”
“But you won’t let any men at the conference get a peek at your panties?”
“Nope. They’re colleagues and business acquaintances. My personal life is staying far away from real estate. And you know how men talk. I won’t be fodder for the water cooler.”
“Y’mean men at the conference talking?”
“Yep. I aim to be strictly professional.” Sure, it was okay for men to screw around on business trips with colleagues and acquaintances, but the double standard of a woman having some fun within the circle still applied, which was pure bullshit.
“But if there’s a gorgeous stud in one of the bars who has nothing to do with real estate…” Bebe couldn’t help her grin.
“What are you gonna pack?”
“Oh, I’ll be dressed for success.” Bebe waggled her finger. “My kind of success.”
“A knock-’em-out killer mini-skirt? Fuck-me heels? Fishnets?” Gigi giggled again.
“Don’t forget killer lingerie,” Bebe added in a purring voice. “Once I say goodbye to you, I’m going shopping at Chest of Drawers.”
“Ooh, that’s the bad girl shop. Go you. It’s about time.”
“I’ll talk to you later.” More than a chuckle sat in Bebe’s tummy. Flutters of excitement danced straight across her lower abdomen.
“Sure, sweetie. Muah. Muah.”
Bebe closed the window and pulled up a new tab. She clicked the mouse and opened the website to the most daring lingerie store in North America for some well-deserved naughty retail therapy.
