A. Catherine Noon here, signing off with my last post for the Valentine’s Day. I’d like to thank the lovely folks at The Romance Studio for hosting us. If you are a writer or reader of romance, you owe it to yourself to check out their site. They’ve got a lot of great stuff and they are great to work with. I’d also like to thank you, Dear Reader, for coming by. I know how busy you are and it means a lot that you’d take time out of your day to come hang out with me and my fellow authors here. Be sure to poke around on the right sidebar and follow the authors there; we sure appreciate you and would love to see you in the future.
If you are in the Chicago area, I have a writers group called Writer Zen Garden. This Saturday, 02/18/2017, from 2:00 to 4:00, I am hosting one of our popular Prompt Circles. They are free of charge and no experience is necessary. We hang out and write, using prompts from games and literary sources alike. It’s a lot of fun.
If you’re not in Chicago, or can’t make it to those events, Writer Zen Garden hosts a number of popular online workshops. We’re doing a Walking In This World one right now and are on Week 3; and Tina Holland is teaching her F.E.A.R.S. Workshop now: Finish, Edit, Analyze, Research, and Submit your manuscript. In March, we’ll be doing a workshop on Dialog. These are on the Writer Zen Garden Forum, linked below.
Then on Sunday, 02/19/2017, the local ChiWriMo group is going on a Field Trip to the Field Museum! I’m super stoked about this; we did it last year and it was a blast. What’s ChiWriMo, you ask? It’s the Chicago Region of National Novel Writing Month. NaNo is in November every year, but we gather in the offseason to do fun stuff and write out loud – like at the Field Museum. If that sounds like fun, you should join us – AND the Field is open free to Illinois residents during the month of February.
I hope you have a great Valentine’s Day, and join me back here at TRS Parties in March for the St. Patrick’s Day Party!
