I sat up and yanked out my I.V. with my good hand, knowing full well my actions would set off an alarm at the nurse’s station down the hall. “But you know who did kill her?”
He ignored the question, which gave me my answer. He just sat wringing his hands and trembling. “I need your help, Ian. I’m being blackmailed. Please help me. I beg of you.”
“You should have thought about your reputation and position before going ape over the likes of Ruthie,” I said before standing and grabbing my torn clothing off a nearby chair.
