Last weekend, I celebrated four years since I self-published my first novel, Hell in Heels. To me, it was nearly inconceivable that it had been that long, for I remembered the journey like it was yesterday, writing the novel in about three months and taking just about that long to edit it. Looking back, it is a novel that was rough around the edges, but I still have a love for that novel that has propelled my further.
Four years have passed, and since that point, I have self-published three more novels with another on the way this summer. Though each of them has embraced a stronger voice, none of them have left the glamorous urban stage, which I have found to be the most comfortable setting for my stories.
