Hello all, I hope you are enjoying the party and also enjoying my posts. I will be awarding two lucky people who comment a free paperback copy of one of my books. Thank you.
Excerpt: Chapter 6
According to Det. Snyder, he suggested some friendly conversation should be engaged in to see what knowledge, if any, Kevin Meyer had as to the homicides involved. This delicate job of pumping Meyer was decidedly left up to Dan Wolfrey.
While at his home, Dan claimed he and Kevin consumed some quantities of beer. He then intentionally led the conversation around to the homicides. He claimed Kevin admitted he knew Annette before she died, knew her vagina and labia were missing from the torso, and knew she and Todd were killed with a .22 behind the burger joint.
Kevin’s knowledge of “evidentiary details” alerted the Wolfrey’s. Jill’s suspicions were reported to Sheriff Jones, who gave her the same “song and dance” he gave her brother, Det. Snyder.
Jill claimed the sheriff said everyone around Logan knew Tex, and Tex “was incapable of such an act.”
Sheriff Jones later admitted he refused written statements from the Wolfrey’s. He claimed he sent Deputies Mile Downhour and Rodney Robinson in a marked sheriff’s cruiser to Animal Crackers Park to interview Kevin.
Jill and Mike Metzger witnessed the deputies talking with Kevin. According to Jill, Kevin admitted he knew Annette, but claimed he only guessed the weapon was a .22 because it was the most commonly known gun to him and involved with other crimes within the county.
Kevin thought Annette’s genitals had been removed because of Dr. Higson’s reports, saying, “That’s what devil worshippers do; they cut people’s privates off.”
Jill said after the officers left, Kevin turned to her and Mike and said, “When I saw that fuckin’ cruiser, I wanted to run,” and “I was glad they didn’t ask me where I was when the two kids were killed, ‘cause I Don’t remember.”
Jill said Kevin threatened to get the person who reported him to the sheriff, saying, “If I go to jail for this, I’ll come out and start cuttin’ people up.”
Within twenty minutes of the deputies’ departure, Kevin had his belongings in his truck and quit his job.
