Roger used his hands to uncover an antique door handle. “I’ve never seen this before,” he said, pulling on the device until a door opened.
Immediately a gust of wind shot upward, engulfing them all. “Protect us, All Mighty God,” shouted the priest as demonic shadows flew around them.
“I sense great pain and fear coming from the well,” Cassandra shouted through the sounds of wind and wails of the spirits.
Roger knelt and peered into the opening with a flashlight. “I don’t see anythin’,” he said. He then dropped a small pebble into the hole. The stone fell a great distance before making a faint sound. “That well has been dry for decades.”
“Let me look,” Cassandra said.
“Are you sure you want to?” Roger asked struggling to hold his balance against the building wind force.
“Yes” she said as Roger moved aside to allow her room. “I’m getting the same vibrations I got at the library…a vision of a scarlet-haired woman.” Cassandra peered into the abandoned well. Suddenly she shrieked, “Ahhh!” then clasped her hands to both sides of her head as her body stiffened.
