3rd Post from Murder Most Foul
Excerpt:
“So, when you heard the gunshots, you didn’t suspect a crime was being committed?”
“Not at all. Kids target practice and rabbit hunt in that cornfield all the time.”
“And you weren’t curious enough to go to the cornfield and look around?”
“I need to be careful. I’m allergic to certain flowers. I haven’t been to that cornfield in years.”
“Well since Sheriff Brown and Jenkins are cousins, reporting what you saw, probable wouldn’t done you any good.”
“If I had known Terry and the sheriff were cousins, I wouldn’t have reported Terry in the first place. If the sheriff is covering for Terry, you got a big fight on your hands,” she said.
“I love a good fight.” Harmon stood, and helped Caroline by moving her chair back. “I’d better walk you to your car.”
Once Caroline rose from her seat, Harmon helped with her jacket. “A friend dropped me off. Someone let the air out of my tires.”
“Not another incident! I’m sorry, Caroline. Being a do-gooder has its drawbacks. Let me drive you home.”
